027: On the road again

I can't begin to tell you all how glad I am that mid-terms are over. This country has become so divided that we rather hurt each other with our words and attack one another over temporal things than recognize the humanity in each other. Regardless of who wins the elections life goes on. We each have to live in our bubbles with the people that are put into our paths. Will we treat them based on their ideology or ours? Are you a person who can love those who are your polar opposites or do you despise them so much that you only hurt yourself with your hatred?

Obligatory election PSA out of the way now on to things that are fabulous and fun. We arrived in Hawaii Friday evening. So excited, I've traveled all around the world but this was our first time in Hawaii. Had a nice evening walk on the beach and am definitely enjoying the warmer weather. Thoroughly enjoyed Saturday touring various filming sites and being stereotypical tourists. Before our show on Sunday we visited Pearl Harbor. It was a very somber reminder of all those who have served and continue to serve.

Now we're on our way to Australia. Looking forward to time with our Aussie fans.

026: Heading to Austrailia

The end of the fall sabbatical from touring is always bitter sweet. I won't have many more years where I get to spend time at home with the kids. They're growing up so fast. That's why I hold on to every moment I can. I'm so glad we live in an area that doesn't enact crazy laws that keep families from enjoying these last few years. This year Jen did their make up and they looked absolutely fabulous as Laura Croft and Darth Maul. The amount of candy still in our house is crazy. No, it wasn't from trick-or-treat but the annual midnight Wal-mart run. John's got a crazy addiction to mini-Snickers.

He'll likely be binging this next week as we won't be able to take any leftovers on the plane. We'll be performing a week from today in Hawaii and then off to Ausie-land for a few weeks. Hopefully I'll have time to enjoy the country.

025: Enjoying being home

Today I took the time to do something I've not done in awhile. I just walked our property. It was a bit cloudy and nippy this morning so I bundled myself up and headed out shortly after sunrise and before the kids were up and about for the day. The birds were all a bustle getting ready for the impending rain. I sat down on a stump and just listened to them chat back and forth while breathing in the crisp fresh Wisconsin air. I knew the rain was coming but I sat out a little longer than I should have and was greeted with a slow and steady shower. I knew it was coming before it arrived as I could hear it falling through the trees between myself and the house.

Fast forward about ten minutes and my soothing light shower turned into a sudden down pour. A sprint back to the house and hot shower later I just finished my coffee before John came down stairs and asked me if I'd cooked breakfast yet. Gotta love a man who is extremely talented at his craft while still being a stereotypical guy from time to time.

024: Birthdays and Chart Toppers

This week my baby girl turned 16. Since we returned from our European tour this summer we've been spending a lot of time together in the car as she works on getting her driving up to par so she can venture out to get her license. We've reminisced about the past and talked of the future. I am so proud of the young woman she is becoming but wish time would slow down I don't know if I'm ready for this. I don't know if anyone is ever really ready for this part of their life. Would love some advice from those of you who have been through this milestone.

In other news Fight the Fury is off to a great start. They are in the top 10 of iTunes album downloads. This album has been a labor of love and I have enjoyed being on the outside looking in watching John do his thing with they guys. What have you enjoyed watching one of your loved ones find success in lately?

023: Ready to be back in the loop

It's been a busy few months. Working with Jen to get her own tours up and going. Working with Alex to get her driving. Taking time out to be mom and enjoying time with my family. It's been nice having time to be me and separate a little from Skillet. Not that we're breaking up, just taking time to reboot and let the creativity flow. John and Seth have been working on a new project Fight the Fury. Their a bit heavier than Skillet and I am having a blast watching the boys reach out of the comfort zone we've been in for many years.

022: Back in the states and neglecting this thing

It's been crazy being home. Catching up with friends, spending time with family, enjoying time being plain old Korey. Europe was amazing and I didn't realize until we posted this fan video exactly how much time I spent behind my phone camera filming the antics of my husband. Might be the reason Jen and I had to iclude our moment of fan girling over Vixen. Also took time to finish watching Kids Voice UK. My boy Harry didn't win but what a fantastic voice.

Since being home both I and Xavier have had birthdays. I saw where several of you all wished me well. I promise I'll try to get those answered in the next few days. Spent the night of my birthday on stage doing what I love. Can't wish for a better birthday than that. Enjoyed taking a moment to look out into the crowd and thank God for another year and all he has provided.

I've mentioned several times that Alex's been driving. Great thing about Wisconsin is the back roads and farm land where you can practice. She finally has her actual temporary and I'm both proud, scared, and worried. My kids are growing up so fast. It's true what they say about time flying. I swear it was just last week I was carrying Xavier on my hip while trying to keep Alex out of everything.

I think I've hit all the highlights since I've been neglecting this thing. Have a fabulous day and I'll do my best to catch up over the next few days and see all the amazing things that have been happening in your lives.

021: On Mental Health

I have thoroughly enjoyed being home. John and Xavier finished a project they'd been working on for awhile giving us a new kitchen table. I really enjoy watching John with the kids. He is the best dad in the world other than my daddy. Okay, so I'm biased. Who isn't when they have a fantastic father?

Another perk of being home, having the opportunity to hang out with your local radio stations. I was able to listen to Jen and her great interview. I'm so blessed to have her as a best friend best friend. She's a strong young woman who I adore. She opened up about her struggles with anxiety and panic attacks. We don't talk enough about mental health. It is so important to know that when the enemies of fear and doubt creep in that we have the ability to stand strong and it's okay to share our weaknesses. It's when we think we can do everything on our own that we fall into the pit of despair.

020: Wrapping up Europe

Our tour in Europe has been absolutely amazing. We have had a fantastic time touring, meeting new people, seeing the sights and spending quality time together. I try to update my instagram but I feel I'm always behind in my show shots. We played Kiev the other day but I only recently shared Czech Repbulic. There's just so much to do. I'm not like Jenn at all. She is constantly updating her story and page. I think if she didn't push me I'd likely let mine die out. Thankfully there are a ton of individuals who enjoy taking our pictures and sharing them with us. @db_photoat recently shared his snaps from Volt Festival in Belgium.

Did our Independence Day shout out from Kiev, Ukraine just before hitting the stage. One more show tomorrow night in Belarus before making our way back to the states. We'll have about a week and a half of down time before hitting the road again. I'm looking forward to a good old American cook out with family and enjoying time as Korey in my natural environment.

019: Best fans

First off, let me start by saying we have the best fans. Feel Invincible has over 100 million views. I really enjoy watching videos of other artists and it makes giddy to know that others actually enjoy watching what we put our heart and soul into. What are some of your favorite videos?

Had a great show the other night in Bucharest, Romania. Only about a week left before heading home. While I'm going to miss the Fourth and all the fireworks I am having an absolutely fabulous time touring areas we don't normally get to see. The best part, Alexis only has a few years before she will move out on on with her life. I find myself wanting to absorb every moment I have with her.

I was also able to add a few more to the mug collection. I try to get a mug from every place we tour. Yes, it's corny but it's my collection. John love to remind me that I'll never be able to actually use them all. We all have our vices.

018: Coopers invade Germany

I absolutely love days between concerts when we are on tour. I get a chance to see the local area and spend time with my family. So glad John and I made the choice years ago to home school the kids and take them on tour with us wherever we go. They are my best work and my heart. Nothing better than waking up slow before a Coops day out in Germany.

017: Germany

We had fun in Berlin, the crowd was crazy. Then it was coffee and vibes before having a blast in Munich. One more show in Germany then we're off to the Netherlands.

This is hysterical..also the show in Utrecht is almost sold out.

Headed to Germany after a fabulous day at Nova Rock. My friend @ilovejoshsturm's man was killing it on stage. Also got schooled by our awesome friends in Shinedown. Watched all this from the wings before hitting the stage ourselves.

015: Made it to Europe

So blessed that God gave me the opportunity to mentor Jen. Not only is she super talented but she is one of the best friends I could have ever hoped to have. Looking forward to once again taking over Europe with her. We have made it safely across and they welcomed us with cake.
